Roadtrip 2014: Vancouver - Yakima - Boise - Provo - Flagstaff - Tucson - Palm Springs - Paso Robles - Sacramento - Eureka - Bandon - Seaside - Vancouver

Day 34 - Tucson Rest Day

It's a rest day for us, but not for the Sunstreaks Project. This is Fotoman 45 #1's post for the day - way up in the cactus garden. Yes, it has its tinfoil hat on.

And this is Fotoman 45 #2's post, even further into the cactus. Yes, it also has a tinfoil hat.

And this is our house for the past month - nestled into the cactus gardens and the National Forest behind.

Late afternoon - neighbourhood cactus garden walk.

This is the pair of Saguaros guarding our front gate.

This is the last speedbump before the end of the road, and our house.

This is the reason everyone must wear tinfoil hats. The Black Helicopters were especially watchful today.

Little desert blooms.

Desert does abstract.

This is what the Black Helicopters are guarding: the World's First Solar Powered Saguaro Cactus. What the cactus needs electricity for is beyond us, but it can't be good.

The cacti are becoming agitated.

Very agitated - better turn off that solar power!

Even in our remote corner of the universe, there are regulations.

Saguaro dance.

That bright rectangle, about 12 kilometers away, is the University of Arizona's Stadium Scoreboard. Really. We can watch football on it with binoculars from our living room.

Turn for home - the desert night begins.

As light falls so does the energy generated by the solar collectors. All is calm. Thank goodness.
